Games List

I’ve added a new page (mostly for my convenience) that lists my videogames. This is actually an Excel spreadsheet that I’ve maintained for quite a while and I’ve simply converted to html. And, Movable Type is such a dream that I was able to incorporate it into my site with very little work. What follows is the description of what I had to do to incorporate it in… If you don’t care, just check out the page.

Converting the spreadsheet to html was simple since Excel does it for me. I chose ‘Save as Web Page’ and voila, a webpage that I can edit with Excel! I then created a new index template in Movable Type. The index template specifies the actual page name, and includes standard things like the header and sidebar. In the body of the index template, I included the line <$MTInclude module="GamesList"$> which basically tells Movable Type to replace that line with whatever text is in the template module named “GamesList.” Then, I created a new template module, but instead of typing something into the text box, I specified that it grab it’s text from a file (which I named the same as my Excel generated html page). I dropped the Excel web page onto my server, rebuilt the site, and I was done!

How is Tetris in GB "unbeatable" yet Tetris Worlds in Xbox is "not beat" Is there a point where a little man comes out and says "I think you've proved your point, you've gone far enough, This is the end" Or is the rumor true that you have to get 22,222 lines, and then the game freezes and says "the end"? If you're hoping to get 22,222 lines, I think you should put TW in the pink(not beatable) section....until that time I will not rest.

So, Tetris Worlds actually has a Story Mode (if you can believe it), and can be beat (ask Billy, he beat it). Old school tetris on the GB can't really be beat... I mean, if you clear 9-5, I suppose you can consider it beat... but there's no "congratulations, you beat the game" business.

Don't let my explaination lead you to believe that I care... I'm sure that I'll never beat Tetris Worlds, the only reason I have it is because it was 'free' with my 2nd Xbox.

I know about the story mode, and I thought you did care, that's why I paid money for TW, so that we could go head-to-head, mono-e-mono, neck and neck, so we could duke it out, shed some blood, sweat some bullets....Instead you stay offline all the time...*sigh* maybe when the xbox is $100 I'll buy Billy one so we can play online together.

Micah? Show yourself! It really bothers me when someone makes a comment and I can't associate who they are with the words. It invalidates the words. So if you care to have me care, state your name.

I beat TW on easy mode in one night (like 'easy-spin' and whatever else). I didn't play with any difficult settings. I was just getting a feel for the new games and ended up setting the goal to beat it. This happened while Jake and Kara left for LV with the XBox and Cooper at my house.

The purpose of all Tetris games is to consume time when no better purpose is found.

Anyway, Jake, your procedure for uploading your Excel sheet sounded incredibly cumbersome to me. I know you love MT, so I wasn't sure if you were kidding or not.

My pants taste like cotton candy.

Yeah, basically anytime you see a gay name in the comments section, it's Micah... I guess he thinks it's funny???

And no, I wasn't joking about MT being great; it took me more time to type out that description on what I did, than it took me to actually do it. I could have just pasted the excel page straight in, but the way I did it made it much easier to update in the future. You just don't understand... ;)

why you guys so mean to me tonight? no love?
