Kara and I watched Lost in Translation a couple of nights ago… I thought the movie was good and all, but I didn’t think it was anything to freak out about (unlike the rest of the world). I do see how others might have liked it more than me though. The movie is basically about two people who feel lost or stuck in their lives, they meet up and help each other out of their shared funk. I’m sure the movie had special meaning for people who have felt like this sometime in their lives. It just didn’t resonate with me however (I’m guessing) because I’ve yet to feel this way about my life… I’ll make sure to watch this movie 20 or so years down the road. I have a feeling my midlife crisis will give me a whole new appreciation for the film.
I agree...I don't see what was so good about it. I thought it was alright but it definetly didn't live up to all the hype to me.
I thought it was interesting; at least the scene where Bill is talking to Scarlett about kids; that's why I wanted to watch the movie in the first place. I read the review on Defective Yeti and that's what prompted me to rent it. Other than that, you're right, it was just... ok. I'll have to do the same thing, Jakers, and watch this in 20 years or so when I'm having my midlife crisis too ;) Maybe we can watch it together then, hehehe.
Mercy, i have never seen the movie.
I know that I must just completely suck for not having input.
Sorry dude, but I do have a question that has nothing to do with this entry.
Do you know of any good PC games for me?
I like Max Payne2 kinda games.
Not true 1st person shooters, but rather 3 person shooters.
Let me know aight?
Lata.
I did think it lived up to the hype. In fact, I was part of the hype machine in a small way. I felt it was one of the two best films I saw last year (the other being Barbarian Invasions) and I said as much to everyone who would listen. But I certainly can see why you didn't love it. Not everyone did. I've seen people come out of the movie (I work in a theatre that showed it) and say they *hated* it. Seems harsh to me, but thank goodness everyone doesn't think alike. I mean, believe it or not the world is probably a better place because of the two or three people out there who actually liked T3.
