If I’ve learned anything from J.J. Abrams (creator of Alias), it’s that women are evil duplicitous bitches. Apparently J.J. has had women troubles in his past, because he really can’t seem to get over this whole “my wife is really an evil spy” theme. It all started off with Sydney’s parents Jack Bristow & Irina Derevko. And the obvious second case is the current plot line of Vaughn discovering that is wife, Lauren Reed, is a baddie. However it doesn’t stop there… Christian Slater had a guest star role for a couple episodes as some math wiz or something… You want to guess what his wife was? That’s right, a spy that pretended to love him to get access to his work. And then, as revealed in last week’s episode, Lauren’s mom & dad had the same relationship… Dad = good, Dad’s wife = bad (we don’t know much about them, but it’s not hard to come to that conclusion since Mom helped the Covenant put a bullet in Dad’s head). Then of course there was the Francie & Will relationship… though they weren’t married & Francie (I called her Francie-bot at the time cuz I joked that the look-alike would be something ridiculous like a robot) wasn’t the real Francie it was still yet another relationship where the woman was a deceiver while the man thought everything was just great! I hope J.J. has finally gotten it out of his system, because it’s really starting to get old.
as jake and i talked about yesterday...could it really be that Sydney is the ONLY good girl on the show??? Or is she??
Dude, I really hate to say it, but I have never even seen the show.
HOw much do I suck?
That would really be the ultimate question.
But you really don't have to answer that.
Yeah, I had noticed that trend slightly, but I had not remembered all those instances! Abrams needs some marriage counseling or something. I just feel sorry for his wife! He must be paranoid...unless...
Kara refers to the other point I made on Sunday which is that every wife that isn't bad, is dead. Dixson's & Sloan's wives were innocent, but they were killed off in the "You kill mine, I'll kill yours" wife-kill of 2003.
Oh, and Tony... You suck long time. Get your grubby pirating hands on the first season DVDs, you won't be disappointed.
Isn't Abrams just ripping off the story of Adam and Eve?
Well....as for me and Katie, (AKA "The Wife"), we were loyal fans from the start until the "2003 Wife Kill" (AKA Kill off all the innocent folks we love, expose SD6, market "sexy" to the superbowl fans, and dumb down the plot twists so neanderthal-guys can watch to) Of course we aren't bitter against Disney Corp!
To prove it, we intend to watch the entire 2004 season when it comes out on DVD. This is to save us the weekly heart-attacks we were having every Sunday. That way we can just have one big day-long heart attack along with our bucket of buttered Valium.
To summarize: Yes, we are still fans; No we didn't like the new turn of events in 2003, but we're still deeply enthralled; AND I think Kara may be on to something.
(Kara's thinking = "true cult fan")
Thank you for your time.....
