Recently I’ve had Bubble Bobble on the mind, so yesterday morning when I got out of bed I went straight for the NES. Kara and I played through level after level of monster popping fun; that game is one of the best 2-player games ever made if you ask me. After Bubble Bobble, I stuck in another game and we played all the way through. We ended up defeating the vile Red Falcon and saving the universe! I considered myself a hero… that’s right, Contra. Of course we had to use the most famous of all cheat codes to get our 30 lives, and boy did we need them! I can’t imagine ever beating that game with only 3 lives and 2 continues… INSANE! We had 30 lives per continue, and we STILL had to use both continues! Thank goodness Konami put that cheat in the game or I would have never seen the credits roll.
oh man, thanks for the flash back of contra, great game, some of the funkiest guns (what is the curly q one?) my fav was the spread. The best part is how you can kill the other player by jumping up too far too fast. Dave loves it when I do that to him.
Oh my holy heck! I used to love Bubble Bobble and played it like crazy on my C-64 back in the day! Then my mom got hooked on it and one day while I was at school she played and played and played and finally beat my score! She had to take a picture of it so that she could show me when she got home. hehehe... good times ;) Now I'm gonna have to go and find a Commodore emulator and the game.
Dude, how much do i suck.
I have never heard of that game, but i will have to check that out now, but the only thing is, I am scared that I might get addicted to it.
Lord knows i have enough trouble staying away from games like Unreal tournament 2004, but............we'll just see how that goes for me.
hehe.
:)
Tony... how in the world did you make it through your childhood without playing bubble booble?? That is a great game!! You could play it all in one sitting due to the fact that when you die you can continue where you left off or you can write down the code that it gives you when it says game over and go back later and continue where you left off.
If you start to play this game I gaurantee you WILL get addicted to it!
Dude, look who is now being lazy not updating his blog.
