Mr. T, you really shouldn't pity them!

I picked up the Foo Fighters' new CD, One by One, last week and MAN does it kick ass! Those dudes have been kicking out great music for quite a while, and it's brought me to quite a blasphemous conclusion. I suppose now that I live in Redmond, the Lake Washington buffer should keep me safe from the Seattle grunge-ites. So, here goes... I think it was probably for the best for the alternative rock scene that Kurt blew his brains out. I mean, Nirvana did what they came to do, but I don't know if I would have been up for 10 more years of the Nirvana sound. And, Cobain's death allowed Grohl to form the consistently excellent Foo Fighters. Though, maybe if Kurt was still around he could have kept his crazy wife in line...

I agree that things are better without Kurt (musically -- as a person all life is precious).

The Foo Fighters are fun but I'm happier that metal is still alive (at least to those of us that are older and like it -- the kids probably still like the pop/rock/metal on the radio, though).

Dave Grohl is in my opinion one of the most under recognized musicians out there today. Not only has he perfected the writing of the perfect 3.5 minute pop/rock song, he also plays all the instruments heard on many of his albums, and also has the best scream of any rock man I've heard in awhile. I am so glad he didn't stay w/Nirvana, in fact they are such two different worlds, it doesn't even seem like he was in Nirvana. As many already know, "The Colour and the Shape" is by far the best foo fighter album ever released, and if you feel like something really dark and heavy (metal) check out his project he headed up called Probot, if you like metal (billy this is for you) this album will make your eyeballs bleed.

I must agree with the micah man.
The colour and the Shape is one of their best albums. I have like 3 of them, but that one by far is the best to me.
I know this, cuz I always drift towards that ablum when I am in a Foo's Mood
