The article is long, but Reggie makes a couple of good points. I totally agree that handheld gaming should focus on short blasts of gaming. Mario VS. Donkey Kong did this SO well! After I got that game I would carry my GBA around with me, and anytime I had a down time of ~5 minutes, I'd pull it out and play a level or two.
I thought his background comment that tech devices succeed mostly because of their entertainment value was neat. It's not just a cop out of Nintendo lagging in technology, either. I'm not too impressed with the newest, coolest thing. But a game/device that keeps my attention off and on for a long period of time is better than something trendy or hot. Maybe I'm just an old fuddy duddy.
