Dave, Kara and I went to see Goblet of Fire yesterday (Scott & Katie were supposed to join us, but the tickets were sold out by the time they arrived!) The movie was alright, but had the same problem as the book... almost no plot. There is a meaningful event late in the movie, but those 20 or so minutes don’t make up for 2 hours of nothingness. There’s plenty of CGI wonderment and tense moments, but a story would have been nice...
Finally! Someone else who didn't think the movie was all that and a bag of crisps. The overdependence on CGI is as annoying here as it is in all the others. And is it me, or did those kids' acting chops just take a leap backwards? Glad I didn't pay for this bitch.
Everyone go rent 'Flirting' if you want to see a good movie about kids in boarding school (with actors who can actually act).
Or we could not watch movies about minors and sexuality since that's weird. Perverts.
Hmmm, so am I glad that we couldn't get tickets? Well, actually, it was more about experiencing it with friends than about the movie anyway. ....Even experiencing boredom together can be a bonding experience, just watch Breakfast Club. :)
I'm sorry that you never experienced falling for a girl when you were in highschool, Billy, and that you think it's perverted. You did make it to highschool, right?
The perversion I mentioned was fantasizing about underaged girls when you yourself are some old dude. I didn't realize you currently attend British Movie Star High. That makes it OK.
Who's fantasizing about anything? All I said was it's a good movie that people should see (one of my favorites, in fact), something I maintain. But I guess if you're still in that "girls have cooties" phase, little Billy, then even mentioning it might seem like fantasizing somehow.
I had a conversation with Jake in real life (outside Internet) regarding the maturation of the kids in this film. That event somehow seeped into my version of the above. After rereading, I concur that Nathan is no pervert. Jake, though... ;) ;)
Ironic that you two would use the topic of adolescent flirting to do just that!
You two need to stop chasing each other around the virtual playground, and make out already!
Funny, I thought you said that you had a conversation about the "masturbation" of the kids in this film. I was really thinking it was the pot calling kettle there for a moment. :)
